Accommodation

Welcome to your piece of Utopia.

Tonquani Bush Chalet is the perfect romantic getaway or family retreat. The chalet offers simple living with a few touches of luxury.

Beyond the traditional concept of bush relaxation, we have created a space of serenity and comfort. The living area comprises a kitchen and lounge, and the rosewood and Oregon pine gives a cosy cottage ambience.  Flanked by a patio on either side, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Buffelspoort mountains on one side, river valley and the Tonquani Gorge on the other.

By contrast, the bedroom upstairs is light and airy, lending itself to a certain romance and luxury.  The small balcony door opens up to the mountains in the distance, and the far window opens on a view of the Gorge.

The kitchen is well equipped, everything you

A stylish self-catering space where you can relax and rejuvenate. The chalet is off the grid (no electricity), thus bringing you closer to nature. Gas operated geyser, stove and fridge/freezer, with limited light and soft ambience, bush walks, stargazing and panoramic view make for a unique experience.

The living space is homely and cosy, with Rosewood and Oregon pine finishes and offers a sleeper couch. By contrast, the loft bedroom upstairs is light and airy with a queen-sized bed. There is one bathroom with a bath (outside shower to follow in summer!).

The chalet is well equipped for self catering, with 180 degree panoramic views. It is also fairly private, with your nearest neighbour some distance away.

Guest access

The chalet is within walking distance of the facilities which include a children’s playground, tennis courts, putt-putt, giant chess, a games room and three swimming pools, where you can picnic under shady trees to picnic, or utilise the braai facilities there.

There are several bush walks around the estate, a great opportunity to drink in your natural surrounds. Alternately, if you would like a day out hiking in the magnificent Tonquani Gorge, we could arrange a day pass (80).
